Training Aim:
To verify participant's competence and declare computer skills achieved.
ECDL Certification consists of 7 modules/subjects that are considered important to the use of modern computer systems found in most offices today. The certification is recognised across Europe. When all modules are passed you are issued an ECDL Certificate. If you pass 4 modules you can request an ECDL 'Start' Certificate.
Objectives:
To enable participant to recognise their knowledge of standard business computer applications.
Serves as a passport to employment in opening doors on the world of information technology.

Outline Training Plan:
Mod 1 - Basic Concepts of Information Technology (IT Theory).
Mod 2 - Using a Computer & Managing Files (File Management).
Mod 3 - Word Processing (Word).
Mod 4 - Spreadsheets (Excel).
Mod 5 - Databases (Access).
Mod 6 - Presentations (Powerpoint).
Mod 7 - Information and Communication (Internet and Email).
Training Duration:
50 hours (depending on learner's prior learning and existing skills). Practice time is always available.
Course Fee:
€500 per participant (discounted to €450 FAS/CE Participants/Unemployed).
If you have completed some ECDL modules already we can quote for remaining modules to complete the full European Computer Driving Licence.
Walk-in Exams Only: €20 per exam. For extra class/tuition/assisted mock exam: €35 for 2 hour class, or €45 for a 3 hour class beforehand.
Assessment & Certification:
Modules may be taken in any order and over a period of 3 years (within 6 months at our Centre).
ECDL Licence issued from ICS Skills through Lir Business Centre.
We check that the trainee has acquired the skill, knowledge and attitude that is required in order to perform a job/task or to a given standard of performance mainly through the approved manuals.
Trainees attainment is based on assessment results which is summarily recorded on an ECDL Skills Card and on successful completion is sent to ECDL Ireland who forward ECDL Certificate.
Evaluation takes place before, during and after training.
Trainee Profile:
Any skill level with basic keyboard skills.
For Learners who wish to use a computer in either a professional or a personal capacity.

Lir Business Services & Training Centre's Approved Training Programmes and Trainers have been placed on the GAS/EI National Register of Trainers.
